"AS YOU DESIRE ME" is a rarely heard recording of a truly beautiful love song written by Allie Wrubel in 1932, inspired by a film of the same name that year which starred Greta Garbo. If you have never heard it before, enjoy these recordings (some, sadly, with surface noise, but great listens regardless.) It is hard to pick a favorite. (This would have been a great one for Doris Day!) Here, from 1932, a recording of the song by then very popular singer, Russ Columbo.
And now, some other very good choices:
FRANK SINATRA (from album "Sinatra and Strings")
Dramatic version by SARAH VAUGHAN
JO STAFFORD (pardon surface noise) Bonus: an entire side one of album of same title
AND the incomparable Miss Peggy Lee
Last, but not least, a living recording by ELLA FITZGERALD from 1949
